The Union of Employees in Postal Services, Courier Services and Digital Platforms (S.E.T.T.A.) expresses its full solidarity with the FedEx workers in Turkey who will strike on Wednesday, May 20, demanding better wages and improved working conditions.
The workers’ demands are fair and legitimate. However, FedEx management has responded with hostility and refuses to seriously address the concerns of the employees.
As workers in the postal, courier and platform sectors in Greece, we understand very well the reality of exploitation. Low wages, exhausting workloads and constant pressure have become the norm, while many workers are forced to take on multiple jobs just to cover basic living expenses. At the same time, employers continue to increase their profits at the expense of workers’ labour and rights.
Employers want workers isolated, afraid and unorganized so they can continue attacking our rights without resistance. But workers are not powerless. Our greatest strength is solidarity, collective organization and common struggle. Only united can we defend our dignity, our safety and our right to a decent life.
Our union stands firmly alongside the FedEx workers in Turkey. Their fight for dignity and justice is a fight shared by workers everywhere.
NO WORKER SHOULD STAND ALONE
UNITED IN SOLIDARITY, WE HAVE THE POWER TO WIN.
